This live oratorio, composed by the talented film director and composer Daniel Valdez, is presented by the American Music Research Center, El Pueblo Ensemble, and the CU Boulder College of Music. Valdez, an accomplished actor, musician, and vocalist best known for his work in the movies “Zoot Suit” and “La Bamba, enlightens, entertains and inspires audiences through his exceptional musical compositions. Orchestrator Max Wolpert, arranged the music along with the talented Ilan Blanck for the CU Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Renee Gilliland.About Song of Pueblo: Produced by Juan and Deborah Espinosa and performed by El Pueblo Ensemble, the songs weave together the tragic history of the Sandcreek and Ludlow massacres among other historically significant events.This performance is made possible through the CU Roser Visiting Artist Endowment and the American Music Research Center. Did you know Pueblo Cooperative Care Center provided over 100,000 services last year alone to low-income, no-income, and homeless individuals and families in Pueblo County? Your ticket purchase to this event allows the Pueblo Cooperative Care Center to continue feeding and providing needed services to thousands of low-income individuals, including working parents with children, underemployed or unemployed individuals; persons with disabilities, senior citizens living on fixed incomes, military veterans, the homeless and other Pueblo County residents struggling to make ends meet.About Dan Bublitz, Jr. Dan is an American comedian, producer, and podcaster who is known for his show, “It Was Supposed to Be a Love Story” by Lights Out Productions. Dan filmed a comedy special for Dry Bar Comedy and has appeared in films and television productions. Having appeared on “Comedy Time TV,” Dan is the creator and host of the podcast, the “Art of Bombing” where he talks to his guests about finding success through failure.
