This live oratorio, composed by the talented film director and composer Daniel Valdez, is presented by the American Music Research Center, El Pueblo Ensemble, and the CU Boulder College of Music. Valdez, an accomplished actor, musician, and vocalist best known for his work in the movies “Zoot Suit” and “La Bamba, enlightens, entertains and inspires audiences through his exceptional musical compositions. Orchestrator Max Wolpert, arranged the music along with the talented Ilan Blanck for the CU Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Renee Gilliland.About Song of Pueblo: Produced by Juan and Deborah Espinosa and performed by El Pueblo Ensemble, the songs weave together the tragic history of the Sandcreek and Ludlow massacres among other historically significant events.This performance is made possible through the CU Roser Visiting Artist Endowment and the American Music Research Center.
